How to use sample script to calculate date range

Hi, can anyone teach me how to use the sample script in https://dev.joget.org/community/display/DX7/Calculate+Date+Range to calculate the date range? I use a Text Field and set the validator in Bean Shell validator then paste the code into the script but the result doesn't show in the preview.

      Hi, what is the error that you are getting? There are several similar questions like in How to calculate date range between from date & To Date and how to calculate date difference?

        For the script I use was in picture 2 and it doesn't show the difference in Before start text field as shown in picture three even I input the date when in preview mode, so I wonder what is the reason of it.
