Thanks for reporting this issue. The sorting is currently based on the column value and not the formatted value. We will need to see on how to sort according to formatted value.
The JDBC Datalist Binder is not available in the community edition. Can you please let us know when this issue will be fixed of searching on formatted value instead of column value?

As for now, you may try to use the JDBC Datalist Binder (Custom SQL Queries) as a workaround to combine the tables and to display the listing in one go.
